Baroque Passion - Jeffrey Skidmore at 70

Baroque Passion - Jeffrey Skidmore at 70

Jeffrey Skidmore conductor

Passionate Lenten music by Bach, Kuhnau, Lotti, Monteverdi, Purcell and Scarlatti as we celebrate Jeffrey Skidmore at 70. This is sinuous, poignant music that yearns for resolution - heartrending as Mary weeps at the foot of the cross in Scarlatti’s Stabat Mater but concludes with the optimism of Bach’s faith in “the true path to life”.

Baroque music, of course, is a longstanding passion for Jeffrey and Ex Cathedra, so we'd like to thank Birmingham City Council for supporting this concert as part of Jeffrey's 70th birthday celebrations.

The concert was recorded live to camera at Symphony Hall on Jeffrey's birthday and is presented on Bach's birthday, also Passion Sunday this year, 21 March, 4pm.

Household tickets cost just £12.50. Once you have a ticket, you will be able to enjoy unlimited viewing until 11 April.  It will be available across much of the world, so please share with family and friends who might not normally be able to attend our live concerts. Scroll down for booking information.

The cost of presenting this concert will exceed expected ticket sales and fundraised income. If you are able to make a donation to top up the value of your ticket, or to cover other viewers in your household it will be greatly appreciated and help us recoup more of the costs. Thank you.
