We’re pleased to have learned today that we’ve retained our Arts Council England funding for the period 2018-22 as a member of ACE’s National Portfolio. In common with the vast majority of organisations, we have been offered standstill funding for the period.
Although the funding only represents about 7% of the income we need every year, the decision gives us some financial certainty for a period that will take us past our 50th anniversary.
The funding decisions mean that Ex Cathedra remains England’s only professional choir that is funded as a National Portfolio Organisation.
Peter Knott, Area Director, Arts Council England said: “We’re delighted to be supporting Ex Cathedra over the next four years. The choir plays an important part in Birmingham’s vibrant cultural scene and it will be great to see our funding support choral music that can be enjoyed by people of all ages from across the city and beyond.”
