Leave a legacy of singing
Thank you for thinking about remembering Ex Cathedra (registered charity no.1004086) in your Will.
Such a gift fulfils a very special role, enabling you to make an ongoing contribution that supports our ambitions to nurture young singers and to expand the choral repertoire by researching hidden gems and commissioning new ones.
Your contribution – large or small – will bring pleasure to other music-lovers, enable us to realise extraordinary projects, and help secure our future. Such support gives us the confidence to pursue our ambitions in these uncertain times.
If you don’t already have one, a Will is easy to make and can be done at relatively low cost. By creating a Will, you will be safe in the knowledge that your wishes will be carried out. We recommend that you discuss this with your solicitor who will be able to suggest a form of words for your Will which sets out how the size of the bequest should be calculated, and should advise that a charitable gift left in your Will can potentially reduce your Inheritance Tax liability.
A gift for Ex Cathedra should include the following information: Ex Cathedra, CBSO Centre, Berkley Street, Birmingham B1 2LF, registered charity number 1004086.
Where possible, we prefer that a gift is unrestricted so that it can be used where it is most needed at the time. If you are happy with this you just need to state that the gift is “for the general charitable purposes of Ex Cathedra”. However, if you wish you gift to be designated in a certain way, e.g. towards research or the commissioning of a new piece, you simply need to include this in your Will. We would be very happy to discuss this with you if you would like.
You can remember Ex Cathedra in your Will without letting us know in advance, but we would like to offer you benefits and opportunities to say thank you during your lifetime. These could include:
– an optional credit in concert programmes and on our website
– invitations to our Academy of Vocal Music’s end-of-term concerts
– advance concert information with priority booking for our Birmingham season
– invitations to special events, with the opportunity to meet Jeffrey Skidmore and members of Ex Cathedra
– opportunities to attend open rehearsals
– discounted copies of future CD releases.
Thank you again for considering supporting Ex Cathedra in this way.
