A Fundraising Ball for Singing Medicine
We’re excited to announce a fundraising ball in September to raise funds for our award-winning Singing Medicine programme at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Businesses across the West Midlands are being invited to purchase tables and support the continuation of this vital programme.
Singing Medicine is a unique project bringing the special well-being benefits of play through singing to very poorly, long-stay children in Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Since 2004, our Singing Medicine team has worked with children across the hospital every Friday, including in Intensive Care, Oncology, Neurology, Neo-Natal, and Cardiac wards.
Our Director of Education, Rebecca Ledgard, says: “Singing Medicine has become an important part of many children’s lives, through which we aim to bring the special benefits of play through singing. The hospital staff tell us how our sessions bring light and life, and awaken new energy in the children. Over the last 11 years we have delivered 30,000 sessions and we are working hard to raise the funds to provide Singing Medicine for all those children who need it.”
The glittering evening at Town Hall Birmingham on 7 September will feature outstanding music from artists including Jazz Bomb and our own choir, as well as introducing the Singing Medicine project in more detail.
Tables are £950 each for 10 people, or £95 per individual ticket.
