Orff Carmina Burana (excerpts)

Dramatic, provocative and sexy, Carmina Burana is embedded in popular culture. It is a piece you know, whether you realise it or not. You may know it from The X Factor or you may remember it from the Old Spice advert, but you haven’t heard it like this! We will be joined by two pianists from Birmingham Royal Ballet and the percussion section of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra for these performances, each lasting 20 minutes, to fill the Bullring with highlights from Carl Orff’s stunning score.

These performances are £FREE, and presented as part of Birmingham Weekender, a festival weekend of outdoor performance, art and entertainment, all taking place in Birmingham city-centre from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 September 2015 to celebrate the opening of the refurbished New Street Station, Grand Central shopping centre, John Lewis and much more.

Download the Birmingham Weekender brochure to find out more, and plan your weekend. Just remember to allow plenty of travel time as the city centre is expected to be busy.
